I assume that my constant state of hunger means I am eating less, but I still wonder if that's a good thing. Should I eat small healthy snacks when I am hungry or just tough it out until the next meal? I once had a doctor tell me "just don't eat," but he was kind of a loon.
I'm also moving around more. I try not to sit still at home unless I am reading to the kids or talking with Kym. Of course, I say this as I've been sitting at the computer for an hour importing CDs into iTunes. But really, especially after meals, I've been trying to move around more and it's helping. I know I need actual exercise, but with my schedule right now it's the best I can do.
There has been several temptations. I was introduced to a really good small Mexican restaurant that has quickly become a new favorite, but this is a good thing. Their portions are much smaller than others and you can order items a la carte so I can still eat small and eat delicious.
We also talked about The Brook on the show today and all I could think of was this . . . .
and this . . .
. . . .oh sweet, sweet cheese, I'm hungry.

i'm of course not a doctor, so take this for what it's worth.
don't eat. in order for you to lose weight, you have to essentially starve yourself to some degree or another. if you eat when you're hungry, you're breaking even, and if you're losing weight, it's slowly.
but.
you can eat when you're hungry. low-calorie foods, veggies. microwave a bowl of frozen green beans, or carrots or something. it'll temporarily fill your stomach, without actually giving you energy. also, liquid refreshments of the not-water sort (juice, coffee, tea) will fill you up. doesn't last long, but are easier to consume. i don't reccommend soda, because i hear that it's horrible & causes you to gain weight, because it's choc-full of delicious calories. but i don't know that for sure.
also.
you won't always be hungry. if you eat large meals consistently, your stomach expands. and so, you must now force it to shrink back to a smaller size. shrinking stomach = hungry hungry belly. but, this will go away. however, you do have to eat small meals consistently (small portion size), and not large meals infrequently. lately i've had the problem where i eat one big meal a day, and then i'm starving all morning during the shows. i started bringing apple sauce. i reccommend apple sauce.
so... eat veggies to make your tummy stop yelling, but yes, the constant state of hunger is probably a sign of progress.
side note: if you feel weak or dizzy from lack of food, eat.
again, i'm not a doctor. use your own judgment if/when following advice.
yey for moving around more!!!
and congrats on giving it a second try & having stick-with-it-ness. i approve
