Sorry for the absence of posts. It was an extremely hectic weekend, but Oklahoma has indeed turned 100. We are officially an old bastard and I, along with many others, can get back to the daily routine.
I have to admit that I pretty much fell off the chuckwagon this last weekend, but today I am back on track. I ate breakfast, had soup and salad for lunch, and plan to work out later today. I'm glad I didn't cheat for too long. It was my lost weekend in The Gut and my old stomping grounds of the Oh-Kay-See, but all is good now. I'm here . . . focused . . . and ready to get small.
More to come tomorrow.
And please send me ideas on working out. I do not have a gym membership yet, although I am working on it. Please send me your ideas for getting exercise at home, preferably late at night when the family is asleep, when I would otherwise sit on my computer downloading songs and posting raunchy messages on the internets.

my advice: gym memberships suck. if you enjoy doing something that involves working out rather than simply working out, you've got a better chance at sticking to it. you should get a membership to a club like a fencing club or a dancing club or a karate club or something more enjoyable. and i'm sure all the people at all those clubs will be more than happy to help you work around any difficulties getting started, if that makes sense.
my working out at home ideas... do basic moving around stuff
* twist your body at the waist back and forth for 30 seconds straight.
* if you can do crunches (situps) do as many as you can
* if you can do squats, do squats.
* stick your arms above your head and keep them there for 60 seconds or so.
* if you can do jumping jacks, those are great
* leglifts. lift each leg up as far as you can (without using inertia, using muscles), as many times as you can.
* pick a time to do it everyday and stick to that schedule
* pick a cd with some upbeat music and always listen to that when you exercise (so you train yourself to exercise when you hear that music, makes it a little easier to keep doing things on down days)
* post, madman, post! post on the internets what you are eating and what you are exercising, so that we can comment on your efforts.
and further advice, go to the zoo with me!!! walking around and looking at aminals is fun for the whole family!! and for cece!! and is healthy fun!! so... this weekend?

something you might wanna try... exercise tubes. essentially, a length of rubber tubing with a handle on each end (they come in varying degrees of resistance). you can use them to do any number of exercises, they're cheap, and they're portable. i actually threw one in my desk at work so i can grab a quick li'l workout now and then.
I totally agree with everything Miss CeCe the Awesome said. My husband does Kendo and he loves it!! I myself am not good at taking classes of any sort, I'm a loner, a rebel, so I opt for the diy sort of exercise. Get a stationary bike or treadmill at a garage sale or thrifty store to see if you like it. Cardio is where it's at baby!!!! Or just dance like a maniac listening to your favorite music, alone or with the childrens.
I hope your thanksgivings went well and that you didn't eat too much pie!!!!
