Found a really good resource today online about race training for the novice. It is at HalHigdon.com. There is a 15k Training Guide that includes a daily routine you start 10 weeks before the race. Since I am not athletic at all I think I am going to first train for a 5k race. That is an 8 week program so luckily I'm giving myself enough time. I haven't set a goal yet for the 5k race, but I'm hoping to do one in the next 6 months, spending the last half of the year training for the 15k.

I feel good after reading the training guides. It actually seems feasible. Of course, it all looks easy on paper, but when I waddle my ass outside and begin to run it's going to be a different story. I don't think I've ever ran 1 mile, let alone 3 (5k).

I mean, does this look like a dude ready to run 9.3 miles? 3 miles? 1 mile?

And if you were about to eat, I sincerely apologize.

Looks more like a man ready to eat 9.3 burritos.
